The Sea of Love takes its inspiration from the gigantic wave of love that inundates all those gathered at the great Sufi festivals of Egypt. Allegorically transformed, they exist outside of time and space - in the realm of pure spirit, without pertaining to any specific location, time-frame, or religious belief. Essentially they revolve around the wondrous adventures that lead the dervish towards the mystical intoxication of Divine Ecstasy, where lover and beloved unite to become one.
As in the enchanting tales from the 1,001 Arabian Nights, they pursue that passionate search through various trials and tribulations, hypnotic music rituals of movement and chant, and celestial gatherings before he can reach the sincerity and purity of a love so deep that you can drown in its elixir. They are a celebration of life itself.
The first paintings from this series were successfully exhibited in Naples, Italy from October 16 - November 1 2015 under the title ‘The Pearl Fishers’. Since then it’s horizons have been broadened and expanded after ongoing celestial revelations and alchemical transformations by the redeeming fire. Enjoy!
